WhatsApp stopped working for 2 hours.


Last night, Facebook owned WhatsApp suffered a global outage. People from across the world and from India reported that they couldn't use WhatsApp for 2 hours on Wednesday night. However, the company has now fixed the issue and the app is working fine. Although WhatsApp has offered no explanation why there was an outage even though the service is used by over 1 billion users and is arguably one of the most important communication tools nowadays.

WhatsApp these days is the primary mode of communication for most of the users And, if the app suddenly stops working it can create commotion for the users. That's what exactly what happened when WhatsApp stopped working for about two hours yesterday.

During the outage WhatsApp users were could login to the app but couldn't do anything else. The users were unable to send or receive messages. They also couldn't make voice or video calls. As per the outage-tracking website Down Detector, when a few users tried opening the application it just showed 'connecting' for longer time.

WhatsApp issued a statement acknowledging the problem but did not explain any cause behind the issue. We are currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is working to restore service as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience, it said.
